Continental call

'Tanto amor'
feat Teus Nobel

7 November 2021 16:00 uur, Huis Kernhem, Ede.

'Continental Call' is the title of our new series of world music concerts that we started last season. The series brings great Dutch and foreign musicians to Kernhem to play a range of styles varying from Brazilian, Latin-Jazz, Venezuelan music and Tango.

For the third concert of Continental Call in 2021 we are welcoming Edison winner Teus Nobel. The trumpeter, bandleader and composer received this award in 2020 for his album 'Saudade', on which he performs the music of Tom Jobim, together with a string section. The album received rave reviews in the press and of course he will play some pieces from 'Saudade' at the concert.

But there is even more to report, because Teus' latest CD 'Tanto Amor' is out! This CD focuses on the compositions of 75-year-old Ivan Lins, spanning a 50-year long career of composing and performing. Lins is one of the best-known artists of the MPB, the Música Brasileira Popular. He is known all over the world and his compositions have been interpreted by, among others, Toots Thielemans and Elis Regina.

His music brings with it the warmth, melancholy and longing, which will be beautifully interpreted by Teus Nobel.

Enough to enjoy for lovers of world music at this special concert. You can attend the concert live in Huis Kernhem as well as streaming from your living room. The number of live tickets is limited, so order your tickets now!

line-up: Teus Nobel (trumpet), Jeroen Vierdag (bass), Marcel Serierse (drums), Edgar van Asselt (piano).
